This project explores the parallels between two former military airports: Tempelhof Airport in Berlin and Ghal’e Morghi Airport in southern Tehran. Both were used intensively during the Second World War and later decommissioned. Each has since become a vast public park — open, horizontal spaces of roughly 300,000 m² in the southern part of their city, remarkably similar in scale, structure and atmosphere. That historical and spatial symmetry is the conceptual core of the work.

I photograph Tempelhofer Feld with a large-format analog camera. The slow, deliberate process allows a deeper engagement with time and place: each image becomes a chronotope, a moment where past and present intersect. For three years I spent weekends running in Ghal’e Morghi Park in Tehran; now, in Tempelhofer Feld, I feel the same sense of the past inside the present. The work will be published as a photo book.
